Virgin Gorda is one of the best Caribbean destinations for travellers who enjoy having a truly eclectic offering of dining options. No matter what your favourite may be, you can find it here. There is also no shortage of opportunities to try something new.
The island boasts dozens of restaurants and even more smaller cafés and other food and entertainment venues. Whether you are looking for the ultimate fine dining experience or just want to sit down for a quick bite, Virgin Gorda has it. Here is a sampling of some of the options available.
Biras Creek Resort
A long-time favourite among locals and visitors alike, this hilltop gem offers an eclectic mix of international faire and provides views that are every bit as good as the food. They offer a wide variety of tempting appetizers and absolutely decadent entrees. On Sunday and Wednesday nights, the chef prepares a grilled lobster special that has to be experienced to be believed.
To round out the perfect dinner, be sure to leave room for one of Biras Creek’s signature desserts. They are fresh and delicious and have a particular island flair. We recommend trying the chilled cantaloupe soup, an island favourites. Be sure to reserve your table in advance and prepare to be amazed.
Chez Bamboo in Virgin Gorda
For those who appreciate authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine, Chez Bamboo in the North end of the island’s Spanish town offers a full menu that rivals even the best Creole restaurants in New Orleans. Enjoy their creole-spiced strip steak with their own interpretation of Worcestershire sauce. It is creamy and spicy and compliments the spices in the meat perfectly.
Chez Bamboo also features live music on the terrace Friday nights and is one of the island’s best venues for jazz and blues. They are open for dinner only, Tuesday through Saturday evenings.
Clubhouse Steak & Seafood Grille
We are certain that the Clubhouse Steak and Seafood Grille will become one of your favourite restaurants in Virgin Gorda. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner and put on a singularly impressive buffet for each. They also have a complete sit-down menu and offer cocktail service throughout the day and evening on their terrace.
You will find all your standard breakfast favourites here from eggs to pancakes and belgian waffles. They also serve a complete continental breakfast with a wide assortment of breads, pastries and fresh island fruits.
Lunch faire includes a variety of sandwiches and salads as well as crab cakes, lobster cakes and cold cuts. Dinner offerings include all common steakhouse faire from steaks and chops to chicken, seafood and salads. The Clubhouse is also the perfect venue for daily fresh fish and lobster specials and all the desserts are fresh and home made.
